Healthcare Receivables Group Provides Scholarship for Mission of Hope

Knoxville, TN (April 2012) – Healthcare Receivables Group, a Knoxville-based accounts receivables management and consulting firm, has gifted a college scholarship to a high school student in rural Appalachia through Mission of Hope.  Neil Koonce, HRG President, presented the college scholarship to Mission of Hope’s Executive Director, Emmette Thompson, at a recent company event.

Koonce commented, “Our corporate culture is predicated on loving our neighbors. Mission of Hope is special to us because their work impacts our region and we see tangible evidence of their success. Education is foundational for breaking poverty. We are thankful to provide a scholarship, through Mission of Hope, to a student that may not otherwise have an opportunity to attend college.”

Since 1996, the Mission of Hope has taken hope to the people of Appalachia. It provides Christian ministries during appropriate seasons of the year through a system of delivering clothes, food, toys, and school supplies to impoverished families. Additionally, Mission of hope assists in home repairs. To encourage qualifying students of the area, scholarships are provided to assist in developing students’ skills or other interest for the creation of new or expanded jobs in the area.
